STAIRCASE

A monthly event treated as a showcase of alternative art in the city, strongly influenced by gothic subculture.

DJs provided music in a designed dance area [constructed using hinged translucent screens that could raise up to reveal the entire area]. Photo, fine art, and video installations were set up throughout the space, and performance artists developed a unique theatrical show for each event. A message board was created to provide an outside culture for the event itself and to build up the community it linked to.
